# Load Balancer Logs and Timeline

A load balancer keeps three record tabs — **Action Logs**, **Billing Logs**, and **Activity Timeline**. All three are always available, regardless of status. Use them to review request traffic, billing transactions, and the history of changes to the load balancer.

## Action Logs

The **Action Logs** tab shows request-level access log entries captured by the load balancer. Each row includes:

| Column    | Description                                        |
| --------- | -------------------------------------------------- |
| Event     | The logged event.                                  |
| Client IP | The client's IP address.                           |
| Details   | Details of the request (protocol, path, response). |
| Timestamp | When the request was received, shown in IST.       |

The list is paginated.

Action Logs are populated only after you **activate access logs** for the load balancer, which stores logs in an object storage bucket you specify. Activate them from the [Info tab](/docs/myaccount/load-balancer/manage/info#access-logs). Until then the portal reminds you to "Activate Access Logs to view logs."

## Billing Logs

The **Billing Logs** tab shows the billing transactions for the load balancer:

| Column           | Description                                                                      |
| ---------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Name             | The load balancer name.                                                          |
| Transaction Type | The kind of charge or credit (for example, hourly charge, reserved IP, upgrade). |
| Amount           | The amount charged or credited.                                                  |
| Created At       | When the transaction was recorded.                                               |

The list is paginated.

## Activity Timeline

The **Activity Timeline** tab is a time-ordered history of every action performed on the load balancer. Use the **Select Month** picker to filter by month and year.

Each entry shows:

- **Event** — one of: `CREATE`, `DELETE`, `UPDATE`, `REBOOT`, `IPV6_ATTACH`, `IPV6_DETACH`, `ENABLE_ACCESS_LOGS`, `DISABLE_ACCESS_LOGS`.
- **Timestamp** — when it happened, in IST.
- **Details** — what changed (and a formatted before/after where applicable).
- **Performed by** — the user who ran the action (with their email, and client IP where available).
- **Status** — **Success** or **Failure**.

If there is no activity for the selected period, the tab shows "No timeline found for the selected month and year."
