# Scalable File System Encryption

## Create Encrypted SFS

Follow these steps to create an encrypted Scalable File System:

### Step 1: Initiate SFS Creation

Click on **Create Scalable File System**.

### Step 2: Configure Settings

- Enter a name for your SFS
- Select the desired plan
- Select your VPC

### Step 3: Enable Encryption

Check the **Enable Encryption** checkbox.

### Step 4: Set Passphrase (Optional)

The **Passphrase field** is optional. You can leave it blank or enter a custom passphrase.

### Step 5: Launch

Click on **Launch SFS** to create the encrypted file system.

## Verification

Once created successfully, an **encryption shield icon** will appear in front of the SFS name to indicate that it is encrypted.
