# Scalable File System (SFS) Backup A complete guide for enabling, managing, and restoring backups in Scalable File System. SFS Backup allows you to securely store files and folders and easily revert your system to a previous recovery point whenever required. This guide covers backup activation, recovery options, backup history, and restore logs. --- ## 1. Activating SFS Backup You can enable backups for your SFS using any of the following methods: #### Option 1: Activate Button Click the **Activate** button available on the main SFS interface. #### Option 2: Actions Menu Open the **Actions** menu and select **Activate Backup**. #### Option 3: Backup Tab 1. Navigate to the **Backup** tab. 2. Click **Click here to activate backup**. --- ### Activation Workflow Regardless of the activation method chosen: 1. A confirmation pop-up will appear. 2. Click **Activate** to enable backups. After activation, the backup state changes to **First Run Pending** until the initial backup is successfully created. --- ## 2. Backup Details The **Details** tab provides comprehensive information about your backup configuration, including: * Scheduled backup frequency * Latest recovery point * Total backup size * Additional backup metrics and statistics Navigate to the **Details** tab to monitor your backup configuration and health. --- ## 3. Backup Restore The **Backup Restore** tab displays all available recovery points associated with your SFS. ### Viewing Recovery Points 1. Go to the **Backup Restore** tab. 2. All recovery points will be listed along with their timestamps. --- ### Restoring Files or Folders To restore data from a recovery point: 1. Click the **Actions** button next to the desired recovery point. 2. Select **Browse** to explore its contents. 3. Choose the file(s) or folder(s) you want to restore. 4. Click **Restore Selected**. 5. Choose the target location for restoration. 6. Click **Restore** to begin the process. --- ### Locking a Recovery Point Locking a recovery point ensures that it is not removed during automated cleanup: 1. Click **Lock** next to the recovery point. 2. A confirmation pop-up will appear. 3. Confirm to lock the recovery point. Locked recovery points remain preserved unless manually deleted. --- ## 4. Backup History The **Backup History** tab provides detailed logs of all backup operations, including: * Backup creation timestamps * Status (Success/Failure) * Backup size * Backup duration Use this tab to review past backup activity and diagnose issues. --- ## 5.
