Your two-factor codes by text message go to the new number from then on. When the account owner changes their number, the account's contact numbers change too. ## Before you begin Check that: - You can sign in to MyAccount. If your old number no longer receives your sign-in code, sign in with one of your backup codes; see [Sign in and trust a device](/myaccount/account/how-to/sign-in-and-trust-a-device/#enter-your-second-code). - The phone with the new number is at hand to receive a text message. - If you are the owner and plan to change the owner email soon, change the email first. Changing the owner's mobile number blocks an owner email change for 30 days. ## Change the number 1. Go to **Billing** > **Manage Profile**. **Manage Customer Profile** opens. Open the **Basic Details** tab, which shows your mobile number. 2. Click the pencil beside your mobile number. **Mobile Number Verification** opens. 3. Choose the country, from the same list as sign-up, and enter the new number. Click **Send OTP**. A code is sent to the new number. 4. Enter the code within 3 minutes, and pass the robot check. 5. Click **Update**. MyAccount shows **Your mobile number and profile is successfully updated**. **Cancel** closes **Mobile Number Verification** without changing your number. If the code does not arrive, click **Resend SMS** after 60 seconds. For a +91 number, **Receive OTP over call** appears after one resend, and a phone call reads the code to you. After several requests, MyAccount stops sending codes to that number for 30 minutes. Wait, then try again. ## What changes - Your two-factor codes by text message go to the new number. - For the account owner, the account's contact numbers change to the new number too. - For the account owner, an owner email change is blocked for 30 days. See [Change the account owner](/myaccount/account/how-to/change-the-owner-email/). Your profile has its new number. To check it, open **Basic Details** again. To use an authenticator app instead of text messages, see [Set up two-factor authentication](/myaccount/account/how-to/set-up-two-factor-authentication/).
