--- title: "Set up AutoPay" description: "Save a card or bank e-mandate in MyAccount so a prepaid account buys infra credits when its balance is low, or a postpaid account settles each invoice itself." content_type: "how-to" product: "billing" platform: "MyAccount" url: "/myaccount/billing/how-to/set-up-autopay/" topic: ["pay"] --- # Set up AutoPay Save a payment method that E2E charges without you signing in. On a prepaid account, AutoPay buys infra credits when the balance reaches a limit you set, or, with Smart Top Up, as much as the next week is likely to need. On a postpaid account, it settles each invoice soon after it is issued. ## Before you begin Have a credit or debit card ready, or, on an INR account, the bank account you want to set a mandate on. The card is saved by the payment gateway, Razorpay or Stripe, never by E2E. Saving a card through Razorpay takes a check payment of one rupee, which the payment gateway refunds; Stripe saves the card without a payment. ## Save a payment method 1. Open **Billing > Auto Pay**. 2. Click **Add Credit/Debit Cards** and pick the gateway: Razorpay or Stripe on an INR account, Stripe on a USD account. Stripe takes Visa and Mastercard. 3. Enter the card details in the gateway and, on Razorpay, confirm the check payment. The gateway returns you to MyAccount, which confirms that the card has been saved and AutoPay is being set up. On an INR account you can save a bank mandate instead of a card: click **Add Bank E-Mandates** and authorise it at your bank. Every saved method is listed with its **AutoPay Type**, **Payment Gateway**, **Card Number**, and **Primary Status**. The primary method is the one charged; another saved method is tried only if the primary fails. To change which is primary, open the method's **Actions** menu and choose **Set As Primary**; to remove one, choose **Delete**. For an Indian card, your bank tells you 24 hours before each automatic debit, and a debit above 15,000 rupees needs your approval at the bank, the way all recurring card payments in India work. ## Choose when to top up On a prepaid account, choose how AutoPay tops up. A postpaid account needs nothing more: once a card is saved, each new invoice is settled with it, along with any older unpaid ones. Turn on **Enable AutoPay to automatically buy Infra credits for MyAccount**. Then choose one of two ways to refill: - **A fixed amount.** In **When the account Infra credits balance reaches**, enter the balance that triggers a top-up, at least 500 credits on an INR account. In **then buy**, enter how many credits to buy each time, from 2,000 to 82,000 on an INR account and from 10 on a USD account. The form starts at 2,000. - **Smart Top Up**, on an INR account. Turn on **Enable SmartTopup**. Instead of a fixed number, the account estimates the next seven days' cost from your recent daily usage, plus any committed plan renewals, licence renewals, and minimum billing due that week, with GST. It buys that much when the balance falls below 2,000 credits. Launch three new nodes and the next top-up grows with them. Click **Save**. The confirmation names the limit and the amount that will be added, before tax. Whenever the account tops up, your bank emails you about the charge. If the charge fails on the primary method, E2E emails you so you can add credits by hand. ## Turning it off Clear **Enable AutoPay to automatically buy Infra credits for MyAccount** and save. The saved cards stay until you delete them. To hear about a low balance without a card, see [Set a low balance alert](/myaccount/billing/how-to/set-a-low-balance-alert/).
