Deleting a domain removes the domain and every record in it from E2E's nameservers. To remove only one record, see [Delete a DNS record](/myaccount/dns/how-to/delete-a-dns-record/). ## Before you begin - You have written down any records you will need again. A deleted domain and its records cannot be restored; to use the domain on E2E DNS again, you add it again and re-create its records by hand. - If the domain still serves a website or mail, your registrar points it to its new DNS provider, and that provider already has every record. While your registrar still points the domain to E2E's nameservers, the domain stops answering once you delete it. To confirm the move, open **Diagnostics** on the domain: the nameserver check reads **Your DNS is currently hosted with another provider.** and lists the new nameservers. ## Delete the domain 1. In MyAccount, under **Network**, click **DNS**. 2. On **Manage DNS**, in the domain's row, click **Actions**, then **Delete**. 3. In **Delete Record**, which asks **Are you sure you want to delete DNS record?**, confirm. The domain leaves **Manage DNS**, with **The domain was deleted successfully.** If you see an error instead, open the domain from **Manage DNS** to see which records are left, then try the delete again. ## Check that the domain is gone About 30 seconds after you delete it, ask an E2E nameserver for the domain, where `example.com` is your domain: ```bash dig @ns50.e2enetworks.net.in example.com SOA +short ``` Every domain on E2E DNS has an SOA record, so an empty output means E2E's nameservers no longer answer for the domain. Resolvers elsewhere can keep their saved answers until each record's TTL runs out. To manage the domain on E2E DNS again later, see [Add a domain](/myaccount/dns/how-to/add-a-domain/).
