Use it to set the FortiGate up, or to get back in when the FortiGate's screen at `https://` does not open, for example after a change to its policies or interfaces. Support turns console access on for one firewall at a time, when you ask. ## Before you begin - You are the account owner, the only person who can open the console. - Support has turned on console access for this firewall. To ask, contact support with the firewall's name. - The firewall is **Running**. - You have the FortiGate's `admin` password, from the launch email or the one you set since. ## Open the console 1. In MyAccount, under **Network**, click **Firewall**. 2. On **Manage Firewall**, in the firewall's row, click **Actions**, then **Access Console**. The console opens on the page, under **Firewall Details - ( / )**. ## Check that you are connected The FortiGate's console shows on the page. Sign in as `admin` with the FortiGate's password. When you are done, close the console. Once the FortiGate's screen opens in a browser again, you can work there; see [Sign in to the FortiGate](/myaccount/firewall/how-to/sign-in-to-the-fortigate/). For help when **Access Console** does not show, see [An item in the Actions menu is greyed out](/myaccount/firewall/troubleshooting/firewall/#an-item-in-the-actions-menu-is-greyed-out).
