Delete every function before you deactivate Functions. ## Before you begin You can delete a function once it is **Running** or **Failed**. Wait until it leaves **Creating** or **Deploying**. ## Delete the function Deleting a function removes its code for good. Copy any code you want to keep before you delete the function. 1. In **Compute > Functions**, find the function in the list. 2. Under **Actions**, click the trash can icon for the function. 3. In **Confirm Delete Function**, click **Delete**. The function leaves the list. ## What you have now The function is gone, and its name is free to use again. Its URL now returns HTTP 404. The CPU monthly minimum applies for each month in which Functions is active, whether or not any functions remain. See [Billing](/myaccount/functions/concepts/billing/). To turn Functions off entirely, see [Deactivate Functions](/myaccount/functions/how-to/deactivate-functions/).
