Pause its notifications during planned work and resume them after, or delete an alert you no longer need. All of this happens on **Manage Alerts**. It lists every alert in the project and region, whether you made it there or on a resource's own **Alerts** tab. The default alerts E2E adds to new resources are there too, and you change them in the same way as your own. ## Find the alert 1. In the side menu, click **Event Monitoring**. The **Monitoring Dashboard** opens. 2. Click **Manage Alerts**. The list of your alerts opens. 3. Find the alert in the list, and open its **Actions** menu. It offers **Edit**, **Pause** or **Resume**, and **Delete**. To see which resources an alert covers, point at its **Service**. Each choice in **Actions** needs its own Event Monitoring permission. [Troubleshooting Event Monitoring](/myaccount/monitoring/troubleshooting/monitoring/#create-alert-edit-or-delete-is-missing) lists which. ## Edit an alert 1. In the alert's **Actions** menu, choose **Edit**. **Edit Alert** opens with the alert's settings filled in. 2. Change any of these: the trigger type, the operator, the threshold, the severity, and the alert groups. Each works as it does when you create an alert; see [Create an alert](/myaccount/monitoring/how-to/create-an-alert/). Keep at least one alert group chosen: an alert always notifies one or more groups. The service and resources stay as they are; to watch other resources, create a new alert. 3. (Optional) To notify a new group, click the plus icon beside **Alert Group(s)**. The **Create New Alert Group** panel opens. Create the group there, and you return to the form with the new group selected. 4. Click **Save**. It becomes available once you have changed something. MyAccount shows **Alert updated successfully** and returns to **Manage Alerts**, where the alert shows its new condition. ## Pause or resume an alert Pause an alert during planned maintenance, or whenever its notifications would only be noise. Pausing stops the notifications, and the check goes on: while the condition is true, the alert's problem still shows on the **Monitoring Dashboard**. The alert keeps all its settings while it is paused. 1. In the alert's **Actions** menu, choose **Pause**. MyAccount asks you to confirm. 2. Click **Pause**. MyAccount shows **Alert paused successfully!** While the alert is paused, its **Actions** menu offers **Resume** in place of **Pause**. To start the notifications again, choose **Resume**, then click **Resume** to confirm. MyAccount shows **Alert resumed successfully!** ## Delete an alert Deleting an alert removes it, with its checks, from every resource it covers. One alert can cover many resources, so point at its **Service** first to see which ones. To keep the alert but stop hearing from it for now, pause it instead. 1. In the alert's **Actions** menu, choose **Delete**. MyAccount asks **Are you sure you want to delete this alert?** 2. Confirm. The alert leaves the list, and its resources are no longer checked against it. To change who hears about an alert without touching the alert itself, add or remove people in its alert groups. The change applies to every alert that uses those groups. See [Manage alert groups](/myaccount/monitoring/how-to/manage-alert-groups/).
