You need a bucket and an access key with **Bucket Writer** access first; see [Generate an access key](/myaccount/object-storage/how-to/generate-an-access-key/). UpdraftPlus needs WordPress 3.9 or later. ## Install UpdraftPlus In your WordPress admin, go to **Plugins**, search for **UpdraftPlus**, click **Install Now**, then **Activate**. ## Point UpdraftPlus at your bucket Go to **Settings > UpdraftPlus Backups > Settings**, scroll to **Remote Storage**, and choose **S3-Compatible Generic**. Enter your access key and secret key, your bucket name under **S3 Location**, and your region's endpoint under **S3 Endpoint**: `objectstore.e2enetworks.net` for Delhi, or the Chennai endpoint from [S3 compatibility](/myaccount/object-storage/concepts/s3-compatibility/) for one there. Click **Test S3 Settings** to confirm it connects, then save. ## Back up and restore From the **Backup/Restore** tab, click **Backup Now** with **Send this Backup to Remote Storage** checked. Once it finishes, the backup appears in your bucket: open the bucket's **Objects** tab in MyAccount to see the files UpdraftPlus uploaded. To restore, click **Restore** next to a backup, then choose which parts to bring back: files, database, or both. Restoring replaces what the site holds now with the backup's copy. UpdraftPlus can also run backups on a schedule from its own **Settings** tab. To keep old ones from piling up in the bucket, see [Set a lifecycle rule](/myaccount/object-storage/how-to/set-a-lifecycle-rule/).
