--- title: "Parameter Group" description: "Set engine configuration values for a MySQL, MariaDB, or PostgreSQL DBaaS instance in a parameter group, and apply them by attaching the group." content_type: "overview" product: "database" platform: "MyAccount" url: "/myaccount/parameter-group/" --- # Parameter Group A parameter group holds engine configuration values for one engine and version, such as MySQL-8.0. Attach it to a DBaaS instance, and the primary runs with those values; after you edit the values, sync the group to apply the changes; syncing restarts each DBaaS instance it is attached to. Parameter groups are under **Database > Parameter Group** in MyAccount. ## What you can do - [Create and edit a parameter group](/myaccount/parameter-group/how-to/create-and-edit-a-parameter-group/) for an engine and version, set its values, and sync them to your DBaaS instances. - [Attach a parameter group to a DBaaS instance](/myaccount/parameter-group/how-to/attach-a-parameter-group-to-a-database/) to apply its values to the primary of that DBaaS instance. - [Move a parameter group to another project](/myaccount/parameter-group/how-to/move-a-parameter-group-to-another-project/) in the same account, to attach it to DBaaS instances there. For the settings you are most likely to change, such as the connection limit, the time zone, and memory, see [Common parameter group settings](/myaccount/parameter-group/concepts/common-parameter-group-settings/). ## Where to start [Create and edit a parameter group](/myaccount/parameter-group/how-to/create-and-edit-a-parameter-group/) for the engine and version your DBaaS instance runs.
