A DBaaS instance has one parameter group attached at a time, and the group's values apply to the primary; Read Replicas stay as they are. ## Before you begin - The DBaaS instance is **Running**. - You have a parameter group for its engine and version; see [Create and edit a parameter group](/myaccount/parameter-group/how-to/create-and-edit-a-parameter-group/). ## Attach a parameter group 1. On the DBaaS instance's **DBaaS Details** tab, in the **Parameter Group** row, click **Attach**. 2. Choose a group made for the DBaaS instance's engine and version from **Attach Parameter Group**, then click **Attach**. The group's values are applied to the primary, and the row now offers **Detach**. ## Detach a parameter group On the DBaaS instance's **DBaaS Details** tab, in the **Parameter Group** row, click **Detach**. The group is detached as soon as you click, and the link changes back to **Attach**. To change the group's values later and push them to the DBaaS instance, see [Create and edit a parameter group](/myaccount/parameter-group/how-to/create-and-edit-a-parameter-group/).
