A public IPv4 address that belongs to your account instead of to one resource. It stays yours until you delete it, even after the node it was on is deleted. See [Reserved IP](/myaccount/reserved-ip/). ## What is the difference between a reserved IP and a Floating IP? A Floating IP is a reserved IP switched into a mode where up to four nodes share it, for failover. A plain reserved IP is on one resource at a time. See [Reserved and Floating IPs](/myaccount/reserved-ip/concepts/reserved-and-floating-ips/). ## How many reserved IPs can I have? Ten by default, counted across all projects in your account. You can [request a higher limit](/myaccount/reserved-ip/how-to/request-a-higher-reserved-ip-limit/). ## Am I billed for a reserved IP that is not attached? Yes. A reserved IP is billed monthly for as long as you hold it, attached or not. The price is on the [pricing page](https://www.e2enetworks.com/pricing). To stop the charge, [delete the reserved IP](/myaccount/reserved-ip/how-to/delete-a-reserved-ip/). ## Can I keep a node's public IP after deleting the node? Yes. Reserve it from the node's **Network** tab, or select **Reserve the node's IP** when you delete the node. See [Reserve a node's public IP when you delete it](/myaccount/reserved-ip/how-to/reserve-a-nodes-public-ip-when-you-delete-it/). ## Can I use a reserved IP as a node's main public IP? Yes. Choose it under **Reserve IPv4** when you create the node, or attach it later from the node's **Network** tab. See [Attach a reserved IP to a node](/myaccount/node/how-to/attach-a-reserved-ip/). ## Can I turn a Floating IP back into a plain reserved IP? No. The switch is one way; the address stays a Floating IP until you delete it. You can still attach and detach its nodes. See [Use a reserved IP as a Floating IP](/myaccount/reserved-ip/how-to/use-a-reserved-ip-as-a-floating-ip/). ## Can I move a reserved IP to another project? Yes, within the same account, for an **Available** address of type **Add-on IP** with no tags. The address stays the same. A reserved IP attached to a node moves with that node when you move it, so you do not need to detach it first. See [Move a reserved IP to another project](/myaccount/reserved-ip/how-to/move-a-reserved-ip-to-another-project/).
