You can take a fresh address from E2E's pool, or reserve the public IP a resource already has, so that the address stays yours after the resource is deleted. ## Before you begin - A MyAccount account with credit. A reserved IP is billed monthly for as long as you hold it; the reserve popup shows the price before you confirm. - Room under your limit: 10 reserved IPs by default, across all projects. At the limit, the reserve buttons open the **Reserve IP Limit Exceeded** popup instead; see [Request a higher reserved IP limit](/myaccount/reserved-ip/how-to/request-a-higher-reserved-ip-limit/). ## Reserve a new IP from the pool Take this path when you want a new address to attach wherever you need it. 1. Open **Network > Reserve IP** and click **Reserve New IP**. 2. Keep **Reserve IP from the default network** selected. 3. Click **Reserve a new IP**. The address appears in the list with the status **Available**, ready to attach. ## Reserve the public IP a resource already has Take this path when people already reach a resource on its address and you want to keep that address, for example before you replace the node. 1. Open **Network > Reserve IP** and click **Reserve Resource IP**. 2. Select the product, **Node** or, in Delhi, **Load Balancer**, then pick the resource. You can pick any resource with a public IP that is not reserved yet; the others show in the list, greyed out. 3. Click **Reserve IP**. The address appears in the list with the status **Unavailable**, because the resource is still using it. The resource keeps running on the address as before. When you later delete the resource, the address turns **Available** and stays in your account. ## Put the address to use The address is yours until you delete it. Attach it to a node or a firewall as an [Add-on IP](/myaccount/reserved-ip/how-to/attach-a-reserved-ip-as-an-add-on-ip/), make it a node's [primary public IP](/myaccount/node/how-to/attach-a-reserved-ip/), or [use it as a Floating IP](/myaccount/reserved-ip/how-to/use-a-reserved-ip-as-a-floating-ip/) shared by several nodes.
