An **Admin** or a **Project Lead** can always upgrade secrets, and any other user needs a policy set that allows it. MyAccount displays **Upgrade** and **Upgrade Secret** to users who have permission to update secrets. See [Create a policy set](/myaccount/account/how-to/create-a-policy-set/). - On a prepaid account, you have enough infra credits for 24 hours of the new plan's hourly price. - Your applications can manage without the store for about a minute. The upgrade restarts the store, which stops answering for up to about a minute. ## Choose the new plan 1. In the MyAccount side menu, click **E2E Secrets Management**. 2. In the secret's row, open **Actions** and choose **Upgrade**. The **Upgrade Secret** panel opens with the secret's name, which stays as it is, and the plans that come after your current one. 3. Compare each plan's **RAM** and **Storage** in GB, and its hourly and monthly **Price**. The new plan needs at least as much storage as the current one. Click **Select** on the plan you want. 4. Click **Upgrade Secret**. MyAccount shows **Secret has been upgraded.** The secret shows **Upgrading** for a few seconds, then **Running** again, now on the new plan. To check the plan, click the secret's name and look under **Plan** on its **Info** tab. ## What the upgrade changes Every value in the store stays as it is. The store stops answering while it restarts, and the pause can last a short time after the secret shows **Running** again. Once the upgrade finishes, the secret is billed at the new plan's price; see [E2E's pricing page](https://www.e2enetworks.com/pricing). If an upgrade fails, the secret shows **Error**. It stays on its old plan and is billed at that plan's price. For what to do, see [The secret shows Error](/myaccount/secrets/troubleshooting/secrets/#the-secret-shows-error). For help with any message during an upgrade, see [Troubleshooting E2E Secrets Management](/myaccount/secrets/troubleshooting/secrets/).
