You use it to clone the SFS or move it to a bigger plan. To bring back single files, use a backup instead. See [SFS snapshots and backups](/myaccount/sfs/concepts/sfs-snapshots-and-backups/). All of these steps start on the SFS's **Snapshot** tab. ## Take a snapshot now 1. Click **Snapshot Now**. 2. Enter a **Snapshot Name**, using letters, digits, underscores, and hyphens. The form shows the snapshot's price per GB per hour. 3. Click **Create Snapshot**. The snapshot appears in the list with its size, status, and creation time. ## Schedule snapshots 1. Click **Schedule Snapshot**. 2. Under **Create Snapshot Interval**, choose **Daily**, **Weekly**, or **Monthly**. A weekly schedule also asks for a day of the week. A monthly one asks for a date, or **Last Day** for the last day of the month. 3. Under **Take snapshot at**, choose one of the three times: **Between 12:00 AM - 1:00 AM IST**, **Between 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM IST**, or **Between 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM IST**. 4. (Optional) Under **Delete Snapshot Interval**, choose how long each scheduled snapshot is kept: **1 Day**, **3 Days**, **7 Days**, **15 Days**, **1 Month**, **3 Months**, **6 Months**, or **1 Year**. 5. Click **Save changes**. To change the schedule, click **Edit Schedule Snapshot settings**, make your changes, and click **Save changes**. To stop scheduled snapshots, open the same form, click **Disable**, and click **Confirm**. ## Set how long scheduled snapshots are kept You can also set this on its own, separately from the schedule. Click **Configure Snapshot Lifecycle**, or **Edit Lifecycle settings** once one is set. Choose a **Delete Snapshot Interval** and click **Save changes**. To keep scheduled snapshots until you delete them yourself, open the same form, click **Disable**, and click **Confirm**. ## Delete a snapshot To delete a snapshot, open its **Actions** menu, click **Delete**, and click **Delete** again to confirm. You can now use your snapshots to clone the SFS or upgrade it to a bigger plan; see [Clone or upgrade an SFS](/myaccount/sfs/how-to/clone-or-upgrade-an-sfs/).
