Converting switches an hourly volume to a committed plan for a fixed term. You choose, when the term ends, whether the committed plan renews or the volume returns to hourly billing. ## Before you begin - An hourly volume. See [Create a volume](/myaccount/volumes/how-to/create-a-volume/). ## Convert the volume 1. Open **Storage > Volumes**. 2. Select the volume, open its **Actions** menu, and choose **Convert to Committed**. 3. Choose the committed plan and its settings. 4. Choose what happens when the term ends: renew the committed plan for another term, or switch to hourly billing. 5. Confirm. ## A volume already on a committed plan If a volume is already committed, its **Actions** menu shows **Committed Volume settings** instead of Convert to Committed. Use that to review or change how the volume behaves when the term ends. The volume now runs on the committed plan and follows the end-of-term choice you saved. A committed volume can be upgraded once the committed term ends; see [Upgrade a volume](/myaccount/volumes/how-to/upgrade-a-volume/).
