It cannot be reversed. Deleting also stops the billing for the volume. ## Before you begin - A volume you want to remove. Detach it from its node first. See [Detach a volume](/myaccount/volumes/how-to/detach-a-volume/). ## Delete the volume 1. Open **Storage > Volumes**. 2. Select the volume, open its **Actions** menu, and choose **Delete**. 3. The confirmation warns that you will permanently lose the data stored in the volume and its associated snapshots. Take any snapshot you want to keep now, then confirm. The volume is removed from the list. The volume and its snapshots are gone, and billing for it has stopped. If the delete is refused, for example because the volume is still attached, [Troubleshooting Volumes](/myaccount/volumes/troubleshooting/volumes/) shows what to clear.
