This is how you move a volume's data back from another region after an export, or bring in a volume image from outside. The URL must belong to E2E Object Storage. ## Before you begin - The volume image stored in an E2E Object Storage bucket, with a public URL. See [Create a bucket](/myaccount/object-storage/how-to/create-a-bucket/). ## Import the volume 1. Open **Storage > Volumes**. 2. Click **Import Volume**. 3. Paste the **Public URL** of the volume image. It must belong to E2E Object Storage. 4. Enter a **Custom Volume Name** (letters, digits, underscores, and hyphens, up to 64 characters). 5. Choose the **Volume Size**. If your image's size does not match a plan exactly, you get the next larger available size, priced and given IOPS for that size. 6. Confirm. The volume is created and appears with the status **Available** when it is ready, and can then be attached to a node. The new volume holds the image's data and shows **Available**, ready to [attach to a node](/myaccount/volumes/how-to/attach-a-volume/). When an import fails, [Troubleshooting Volumes](/myaccount/volumes/troubleshooting/volumes/) has the causes.
