# Get started with Personal Access Tokens

Create a Personal Access Token to use in your API calls. All you need is a TIR project you can
open.

## Create a token

1. In TIR, open your project. In the side menu, under **PLATFORM SERVICES**, select **Personal Access
   Tokens**.
2. Select **Create Token**.
3. In **Token name**, keep the suggested name or type your own, then select **Create**.
4. Copy the new token, then select **CLOSE**.

The token is now in the list, where you can copy it again later. It works for 365 days. See
