# Get started with projects

Create a project, bring a teammate in, and start working in it.

## Before you begin

You need to be the Owner, an Admin, or a Project Manager. These roles can create projects.

## Create the project

1. Under the **Project** selector at the top of the side menu, select **Create Project**.
2. Enter a name of up to 50 characters, then select the tick.

The project is created, and you can now choose it in the **Project** selector.

## Add a teammate

1. In the new project, select **Project Settings** in the side menu, then open **Project Members**.
2. Select **Add Project Member**, choose **Add existing user** or **Add new user**, and pick a **Project Role**.
   For **MEMBER**, choose at least one policy.
3. Select **Add Project Member**.

A new user gets an invitation and joins the project once they accept it.

## Open the dashboard

Choose the project in the **Project** selector. Its **Dashboard** opens, with **Quick Actions** to launch an
instance, an inference endpoint, or a training cluster.
