# Create a project

Create a project to keep a piece of work, and the resources and people it needs, apart from your other
projects.

## Before you begin

You need to be the Owner, an Admin, or a Project Manager to create a project.

## Create a project from the side menu

1. Under the **Project** selector at the top of the side menu, select **Create Project**. A name field opens.
2. Enter a name of up to 50 characters.
3. Select the tick to create the project. To cancel, select the cross.

## Create a project from the Projects list

Use the **Projects** list when you also want to add a description.

1. In the **Projects** list, select **Create Project**.
2. Enter a project name of up to 50 characters and, if you like, a description of up to 300 characters.
3. Select **Create**.

## Switch to the new project

The new project appears in the **Project** selector. Choose it to start working in it. To add people to the
