--- title: "Get started with Billing and Usage" description: "Check your TIR balance, add infra credits on a prepaid account, and find the payment in your statements." content_type: "get-started" product: "tir-billing" platform: "TIR" url: "/tir/tir-billing/get-started/" --- # Get started with Billing and Usage Check your balance, add infra credits, and see the payment in your statements. On a prepaid account, your instances, VMs, and endpoints run on infra credits, so add them before you launch anything. ## Before you begin You need to be the account owner. The owner can open every part of **Billing & Usage**, and an Admin can open only **Account Usage**. ## Check your balance The top bar of TIR shows your balance. A prepaid account shows **Credits**, your infra credit balance. A postpaid account shows **Usage**, your usage for the current month, in your billing currency. Select the balance to see more. On a prepaid account, a balance of zero or less means you need to add credits to keep using paid services. On a postpaid account, unpaid invoices are separate from this month's usage. From the balance, you can view your usage, and the account owner can **Add credits** (prepaid) or **Pay now** (postpaid). For a fuller picture, open the account menu at the top right and select **Billing & Usage**. **Overview** shows your balance, recent transactions, and your AutoPay settings. ## Add infra credits 1. Open the account menu at the top right, select **Billing & Usage**, then **Payment & Transactions** in the settings menu on the left. You can also select **Add credits** in the balance panel. If your billing details or identity verification still need finishing, complete them first with **Complete verification**. 2. In **Credits to add**, enter how many infra credits to buy. One infra credit is one unit of your billing currency, before GST. 3. Check **Total payable**, the amount you pay, and select **Add credits**. 4. Pay in the checkout that opens. An INR account can pay by card, net banking, e-wallet, or UPI. Any other account pays by card. TIR tells you whether the payment went through. Select **Done**. Your payment is at the top of **Recent Transactions**, and the **Credits** balance at the top has the new total. ## What to do next - [Set up AutoPay](/tir/tir-billing/how-to/set-up-autopay/) to buy credits when the balance runs low, so your resources keep running. - [Redeem a coupon](/tir/tir-billing/how-to/redeem-a-coupon/) if E2E sent you a code. - [Pay now](/tir/tir-billing/how-to/pay-now/) covers postpaid accounts, every payment option, and TDS. - If a launch is refused for low credits, see [Troubleshooting Billing and Usage](/tir/tir-billing/troubleshooting/tir-billing/).
