A registry belongs to one project and one region: the region you are working in when you create it. ## Before you begin You need a TIR project and a role with Create permission on Container Registry. Each registry is billed per GB on the peak storage it holds in a calendar month; for the rate, see [E2E's pricing page](https://www.e2enetworks.com/pricing). ## Create it 1. In TIR, open your project. In the side menu, under **Storage**, select **Container Registry**. 2. Select **Create E2E Registry**. 3. TIR fills in **Registry Type** and **Registry Endpoint** for you, and both fields are read-only. The type is **E2E Container Registry**, and the endpoint is the registry address for your region. 4. In **Namespace**, type a name for the registry. Pick a name that is easy to remember, because every Docker command and image address uses it. 5. In **Username Prefix**, type a prefix. Below the field, the form previews the username it makes from it, in the form `e2e+`. 6. Select **Create**. The registry appears in **Manage E2E Registries**, with its **Username** and **Endpoint**. Log in with the **Username** shown in the list, which is the one the registry uses. ## Namespace rules - At least 5 characters. - Only lowercase letters, digits, hyphens, and underscores, with at least one letter and one digit. - Start and end with a letter or a digit, and put a letter or a digit on both sides of every hyphen or underscore. - Unique in the region. The name must differ from every registry there, including other customers' registries. The form checks the length and the characters as you type. TIR checks the start, end, and hyphen-and-underscore rules after you select **Create**, so a name such as `-my-app1` is refused only then. **Username Prefix** is required, and TIR accepts any prefix you type. A new registry is private and holds as many images as you push to it. Its username and password stay valid for as long as the registry exists. They can list, pull, push, and delete images and tags in that registry only. For help with a message during create, see [Troubleshooting TIR Container Registry](/tir/tir-container-registry/troubleshooting/tir-container-registry/). To use the registry, [log in to it](/tir/tir-container-registry/how-to/log-in-to-a-registry/).
