--- title: "Delete a registry" description: "Permanently delete a TIR Container Registry with all its images, and know when it is refused." content_type: "how-to" product: "tir-container-registry" platform: "TIR" url: "/tir/tir-container-registry/how-to/delete-a-registry/" topic: ["manage"] relationships: {"requires":["/tir/tir-container-registry/how-to/create-a-registry/"]} --- # Delete a registry Delete a registry to remove it with all its images and tags. The delete is permanent. ## Before you begin - a role with Delete permission on Container Registry. - Copy or push elsewhere any image you want to keep. - Delete or change any Instance that uses a custom image from this registry, and any Model Endpoint that uses it. TIR refuses the delete while any of them still uses the registry. ## Delete it 1. In **Manage E2E Registries**, select the registry's row. 2. In its **Actions** column, select the delete button. 3. In the **Delete Registry** dialog, tick the box that confirms you want to delete the namespace. The delete removes all the data inside the namespace and marks saved images no longer in use as deleted. 4. Select **Delete**. The registry leaves the list at once. Its images, username, and password are deleted along with it. If a message says the registry is in use, see [Troubleshooting TIR Container Registry](/tir/tir-container-registry/troubleshooting/tir-container-registry/#cannot-delete-this-container-registry-as-it-is-currently-in-use-by-one-or-more-resources).
