Deleting an image removes all its tags permanently. TIR checks only Instances and Model Endpoints before the delete, so anything else that pulls the image, such as a pipeline, can fail afterward. ## Before you begin - a role with Delete permission on Container Registry. - Delete or change any Instance or Model Endpoint that uses a tag of the image. The delete goes through only after the last of them stops using the image. ## Delete it 1. Select the registry's row, then open the image on the **Images** tab. 2. Select **Delete Image**, below the tag table. 3. In the **Delete Image** dialog, which names the image, select **Delete**. TIR marks any saved images from **Save Image** that belong to the image as deleted too. If a message says the image is in use, see [Troubleshooting TIR Container Registry](/tir/tir-container-registry/troubleshooting/tir-container-registry/#cannot-delete-this-image-as-it-is-currently-in-use-by-one-or-more-resources). To remove only one version, see [Delete a tag](/tir/tir-container-registry/how-to/delete-a-tag/).
