--- title: "Push an image" description: "Tag a local Docker image with your registry address and push it to a TIR Container Registry." content_type: "how-to" product: "tir-container-registry" platform: "TIR" url: "/tir/tir-container-registry/how-to/push-an-image/" topic: ["push-and-pull"] relationships: {"requires":["/tir/tir-container-registry/how-to/log-in-to-a-registry/"]} --- # Push an image Push a local Docker image to your registry so that your project can use it. ## Before you begin Make sure that you have [logged in to the registry](/tir/tir-container-registry/how-to/log-in-to-a-registry/) and that the image exists on your machine. ## Push it 1. List the local images to find the one you want to push: ```bash docker images ``` 2. Tag the image with the registry address: ```bash docker tag : //: ``` 3. Push the tagged image: ```bash docker push //: ``` Use the address from the registry's **Docker Commands** panel: `` is `registry.e2enetworks.net` in Delhi and `in-south1-registry.e2enetworks.net` in Chennai, and `` is the registry's name. For example: ```bash docker tag my-app:v1.0 registry.e2enetworks.net/my-namespace/my-app:v1.0 docker push registry.e2enetworks.net/my-namespace/my-app:v1.0 ``` The image then shows on the registry's **Images** tab; see [See the images in a registry](/tir/tir-container-registry/how-to/see-the-images-in-a-registry/). To run it, see [Create an Instance from your own image](/tir/tir-instance/how-to/create-an-instance-from-your-own-image/).
