A reserved public IP is charged monthly until you delete it; for the rate, see [E2E's pricing page](https://www.e2enetworks.com/pricing). ## Reserve the IP 1. In TIR, open your project. In the side menu, under **PLATFORM SERVICES**, select **Networking**. **Reserve IP** opens. 2. Select **Reserve New IP**. You also see how many IP addresses your account can reserve in the region. 3. Note the monthly fee, tick the box, and select **Proceed**. The new IP is listed in **Manage Reserved IP** as a **Public** IP, **Available** to attach. ## Attach it to the instance 1. In the IP's row, open the **Action** menu and select **Attach Reserve IP**. 2. In **Attach IP**, choose **Instance** under **Select Service**, then choose your instance. 3. Select **Attach IP**. The IP's **Status** changes to **Attached**, and **Assigned To** names the instance. ## Connect on the reserved IP Connect to the instance on the reserved IP, for example over SSH; see [Connect to an instance over SSH](/tir/tir-instance/how-to/connect-to-an-instance-over-ssh/). The ports that answer are the ports in the inbound rules of the instance's security groups. ## What to do next - To give an instance or inference service a private route into your MyAccount VPC instead, reserve a VPC IP; see [Reserve an IP](/tir/tir-reserved-ip/how-to/reserve-an-ip-address/#reserve-an-ip-from-a-vpc). - To open more ports on the address, see [Security Groups](/tir/tir-security-group/). - [Reserved IPs](/tir/tir-reserved-ip/concepts/reserved-ips/) compares public IPs and VPC IPs. - For help with any message, see [Troubleshooting Reserve IP](/tir/tir-reserved-ip/troubleshooting/tir-reserved-ip/).
