Each node starts with a 30 GB disk, and you can grow it up to 1,000 GB. ## Before you begin You need a database in the **Running** state and a role with Update permission on Vector Database. A disk can only grow, so start with what you need. The size applies to every node, and each GB above 30 GB is charged per month per node; see [Vector Database billing](/tir/vector-database/concepts/vector-database-billing/). ## Resize the disk 1. In **Manage Vector Database**, select the database's row, then open **Resize Disk**. 2. Set the new **Disk Size** in GB, above the current size and at most 1,000 GB. For a size that is refused, see [Troubleshooting Vector Database](/tir/vector-database/troubleshooting/vector-database/). 3. Select **Update**. To go back to the current size, select **Reset**. The new size can take a few minutes to take effect. **Overview** then gives the new **Disk size per node** under **Cluster Configuration**. ## What to do next To add compute, [scale up the database](/tir/vector-database/how-to/scale-up-a-vector-database/). If you cannot resize the disk, see [Troubleshooting Vector Database](/tir/vector-database/troubleshooting/vector-database/).
