Export your Custom Image

Introduction

The Export Image feature allows you to save your Virtual Compute Node images directly into the E2E Networks Object Storage bucket. This enables you to securely back up, archive, or share your customized images across different region like Delhi Region and Chennai Region.

Important

To create an image of a Windows node, please follow these steps:

1- Users can export their saved images to E2E Networks Object Storage.
2- Once exported, the image can be moved across regions with ease.
3- To do this, the user must first create an image of the Node, and then export it to Object Storage.
4- After export, the image can be re-imported into another region, enabling seamless multi-region deployments.

Click on Compute section and then click on Images

Select the Image which is in Ready and then click on Actions

Click on Export to Object Storage in Actions tab of image.

  • Select the Region and Enter Bucket Name, Access Key and Secret Key and then click on Confirm.

Note
  • Access Key should have permissions of Bucket Admin or Bucket Writer only.
  • Once the export process is initiated, you will see the volume in the Exporting state until the process is completed.

  • All the actions operations will be disabled on this Image while the image is being exporting.
  • Once the export process is completed, the user will receive an 'Export Successful' mail on the email associated with their account.

  • Once the exporting process is completed, you will see the image in the Ready state.

  • When the exporting state is initiated, the user will be able to see versioning in the Object section of Object Storage, if versioning is enabled.
  • Once the exporting process is completed, the user will be able to see a single version."
  • To view the object in Object Storage, click on Object Storage, select the storage you used for exporting the image, and then click on Object. You will be able to see the exported image object there.

  • To view the versioning of the Object then click on View All Versions.

Note
  • Users can directly export a Virtual Compute Node Image to an Object Storage bucket in another region.

  • The Export Image feature is currently available only in the Delhi region and not in the Chennai regions.

  • The user can export the Image from the Delhi region to Chennai regions.

  • The Export Image feature is currently not available when the Image is created from encrypted nodes.
