External Integrations FAQ

View as Markdown

Hugging Face, GitHub, and Weights & Biases. See External Integrations.

Open your project and look in the side menu, under PLATFORM SERVICES. See See your integrations.

You pick one when you create a model endpoint, a fine-tuning job, or a model evaluation, and in a model’s deploy form in the Models Library. See Where integrations are used.

A name can have up to 30 characters, using lowercase letters, digits, and hyphens only. It must start with a letter and end with a letter or digit. Each name must be unique in the project, including the names of integrations you deleted. See Create a Hugging Face integration.

Can I use an integration in another project?

Section titled “Can I use an integration in another project?”

No. An integration belongs to one project, and each form lists the integrations of the project you are in. To use the same credential elsewhere, create the integration again in the other project. See External Integrations.

No. To change a token, create a new integration with a new name, pick it where you need it, and delete the old one. See Delete an integration.

No. The token stays hidden once the integration is saved. The details panel shows the integration’s name, type, creator, and creation time. See See your integrations.

Does TIR test my token when I create the integration?

Section titled “Does TIR test my token when I create the integration?”

Yes, for all three. TIR asks Hugging Face or GitHub which user the token belongs to, and for Weights & Biases it also looks for your project under the username. Later, the form where you use the integration checks access to a particular model or repository. See Create a Weights & Biases integration.

Why is a Hugging Face model refused when my token is valid?

Section titled “Why is a Hugging Face model refused when my token is valid?”

A gated model also needs its owner to grant access to the Hugging Face account that owns the token. Request access on the model’s page on Hugging Face. See Troubleshooting External Integrations.

What happens to model endpoints and jobs that use an integration I delete?

Section titled “What happens to model endpoints and jobs that use an integration I delete?”

Deleting removes TIR’s access to that service immediately, and the model endpoints, fine-tuning jobs, and evaluations that depend on it may fail. See Delete an integration.

Anyone in the project with Read permission on External Integration in IAM sees all of the project’s integrations. To create one, you need Create permission, and to delete one, you need Delete permission.
