Release notes

  1. Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) for TIR Projects

    New

    VPC

    • You can now create a Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) in your TIR project from Network → VPC. A VPC is a private network with an IPv4 address range you choose: resources on the same VPC reach each other over private addresses, with no public IP and no internet hop, and VPCs are isolated from one another. There is no routing, gateway or address assignment to set up — a VPC is ready to use as soon as it shows Active.
    • VPCs can also be managed through the TIR API — list, create, rename and delete VPCs, see the resources attached to a VPC, and validate a CIDR block before you create one.

  2. New vLLM Versions – v0.27.0, v0.28.0

    New

    Inference

    • Two new vLLM versions — v0.27.0 and v0.28.0 — are now available in Model Endpoints, alongside the existing versions.
    • Select the version you want when you create or update an endpoint to pick up the latest vLLM performance improvements and broader model support. Existing endpoints keep running on the version they were deployed with until you change it.
  3. Load-Aware Routing for Inference Deployments

    New

    Inference

    • Load-Aware Routing is now available on TIR Inference Deployments (Model Endpoints). Rather than distributing requests evenly across the pool, the platform checks how busy each model server replica is and sends every incoming request to the one best able to handle it at that moment. By steering traffic away from replicas that are already saturated, Load-Aware Routing keeps response times consistent even when traffic arrives in bursts. It is managed entirely by the platform, with no weights or thresholds to tune and no changes required to your deployment or client code.
  4. Slurm Configuration and Container Jobs on Training Clusters

    New

    Training Cluster

    • Training Clusters now expose their Slurm configuration directly in the console. Open Slurm Configuration from the Actions menu on a running cluster to append your own settings to slurm.conf, define up to 20 custom partitions over the nodes you choose, and add prolog and epilog scripts that run around every job on the workers and on the controller. Applying a change rewrites slurm.conf and reloads the scheduler — running jobs keep going, queued jobs pick up the new settings, and prolog and epilog changes take effect on the next job.
    • Custom partitions let you carve the node pool into named queues with their own time limits, defaults and membership — a short-jobs queue for interactive work, for example, so debugging never waits behind a multi-day training run. Partitions are added from the Cluster Overview tab once the cluster is running, since a partition selects specific nodes.
    • Every Training Cluster also runs container images inside Slurm jobs through Enroot and Pyxis. Pass --container-image to srun or sbatch and your job runs in any Docker or OCI image on the allocated GPUs, unprivileged and with no cluster rebuild — so two jobs on the same cluster can use completely different CUDA and framework versions. The documentation has been rewritten around these capabilities, with guides for container jobs, image caching, multi-node training, Slurm configuration, and a full UI reference.

  5. Persistent Login User Management

    New

    Training Cluster

    • We are introducing Persistent Login User Management, now supported on TIR Slurm Clusters — secure, individual SSH access for your whole team on a Slurm Cluster. Each user gets their own private, dedicated home directory on the cluster's shared storage, with access that persists across pod restarts.
    • Role-based controls let Owners and Admins add or remove users and groups at any time, and clusters remain fully isolated from one another and the service can be closed at any time, revoking all access while preserving the data on the shared storage.
  6. Parallel File System (PFS) Now Available on Virtual Machines

    New

    Virtual Machines

    • TIR Virtual Machines now support Parallel File System (PFS) — high-throughput parallel storage designed for HPC and distributed workloads. PFS distributes data across multiple storage devices to minimize bottlenecks, making it ideal for multi-node training jobs and workloads requiring simultaneous, high-speed access to large datasets.
    • PFS can be mounted to a VM at any custom path (e.g. /my_pfs) directly from the Parallel File System tab on the VM Details page. The same PFS volume can be mounted across multiple VMs simultaneously. Learn More

  11. TIR Virtual Machines

    Virtual Machines

    • TIR now offers Virtual Machines (VMs) — full operating system environments, running on the same TIR infrastructure as TIR Instances.
    • Unlike container-based Instances, TIR VMs give you a dedicated Linux kernel, complete root access, and hardware-level isolation. Install custom kernel modules, configure system daemons, run any Linux distribution, and SSH directly into a stable IP.
  12. Training Cluster v2 Release

    Training Cluster

    • Training Cluster v2 is a major revamp of how you provision, manage, and monitor GPU clusters for distributed training. Cluster creation is now a single unified flow — no more separate deployment step. You can update node count, container images, and configuration in place, without tearing down and recreating the cluster.
    • v2 uses Slurm as the native job scheduler with full Enroot container support — run any Docker or OCI-compatible image alongside curated pre-built images for NeMo and Megatron-Bridge, complete with getting-started and benchmarking scripts. Clusters support elastic scaling — add nodes to a live cluster without teardown or workload disruption — and are built for high availability, so individual node failures no longer bring down the entire cluster.
    • Deep observability is built in: a Jobs Dashboard surfaces full squeue visibility without requiring SSH access, real-time GPU and scheduler metrics are overlaid across all nodes, and node-level health monitoring provides per-GPU utilisation, VRAM, temperature, and XID error history — with the ability to trigger a node restart directly from the dashboard.
  13. IAM & API Simplification

    IAM

    • The Team layer has been removed from the TIR platform. Projects are now managed directly under your Account/CRN, eliminating the team hierarchy. Team-level roles have been retired and automatically migrated to project-level roles, and API endpoints have been updated to a service-centric format with project_id passed as a query parameter.
