Volumes, E2E’s block storage, are disks that attach to one of your nodes, giving that node a file system it can read and write like any local drive. A volume is faster than reaching an Object Storage bucket over the network. It fits the case where your storage needs grow faster than your computing needs: add one volume, or several, to a node without buying more node capacity.
A volume attaches to one node at a time, and only that node can use it. When you detach it, its data stays with the volume, ready to attach to another node. Volumes are available in Delhi and Chennai, sized from 100 GB to 16 TB, with IOPS bundled in and scaled to the size you choose.

What you can do with Volumes
Section titled “What you can do with Volumes”Create and attach a volume:
- Create a volume in Delhi or Chennai
- Attach a volume to a node
- Mount a volume on Linux
- Mount a volume on Windows
- Detach a volume
Protect your data:
Grow and manage:
- Upgrade a volume
- Convert a volume to committed
- Move a volume to another project
- Export a volume
- Import a volume
- Delete a volume
Watch its performance:
For files reached over the network by many machines, use Object Storage instead. For a node’s own system disk, see Node.
Where to start with Volumes
Section titled “Where to start with Volumes”Get started with Volumes creates a volume, attaches it to a node, and makes it usable. When something fails, start at Troubleshooting Volumes.
