The dashboard’s Objects tab handles the everyday work on a bucket: uploading, downloading, and deleting. For scripted or large-scale transfers, see Connect with the mc client or Use the S3-compatible API instead.
Check the bucket’s own details
Section titled “Check the bucket’s own details”A bucket’s Bucket Details tab shows its public URL, name, creation date and time, its Bucket Lifecycle Policy status, and its Object Versioning Policy status, with an edit shortcut next to the last two so you can jump straight to changing either one.
Upload a file from the dashboard
Section titled “Upload a file from the dashboard”Open the bucket, go to its Objects tab, and click Upload. Choose one or more files from your computer and confirm. The dashboard adds no upload limit of its own; like any S3-compatible service, a single object can be up to 5 TiB, uploaded in parts of 5 MiB to 5 GiB each. A download over 500 MB switches to a direct link automatically rather than passing through your browser. Each upload finishes with the file appearing in the object list.
Download or delete an object
Section titled “Download or delete an object”Click the Download icon next to an object to download it, or open the Actions menu and choose Delete to remove it permanently.
Work with versions
Section titled “Work with versions”If Object Versioning is on for the bucket, click View All Versions on the Objects tab to see every version of every object, each with its own version ID, size, and timestamp. From a version’s own menu:
- Generate Presigned URL creates a time-limited download link for that specific version.
- Download pulls that version straight to your computer.
- Delete version removes only that version; deleting an object normally, with versioning on, keeps it recoverable as a previous version instead of erasing it outright.
To send a file to someone without an account, see Share an object with a presigned URL.
