Set a low balance alert

View as Markdown

Get an email before your balance runs low, and, if you like, an SMS and a WhatsApp message. The alert needs no card and works alongside AutoPay or without it. It is also the early warning when someone on the account launches more than they meant to.

Decide the balance at which you want to be told: enough credits to cover the days it takes you to top up. On an INR account the limit is at least 1,000 credits.

  1. Open Billing > Auto Pay.
  2. Turn on Enable low Infra credits notification.
  3. In Credit Alert limit, enter the balance that triggers the alert. Email is always on; turn on I also want SMS notification for a text as well.
  4. Click Save.

The same alert is on Billing > Account Statement > Cost Analysis, under Low Infra Credits Alert, next to the chart of what you spend.

Payment reminders, suspension notices, and billing alerts can also reach you on WhatsApp. Open Settings > General Settings, turn on Enable WhatsApp Notifications, and click Save. Monitoring Alerts is a separate choice on the same page, for the alerts you set on your resources.

A postpaid account has no balance to watch, so its alert is about usage. On Billing > Auto Pay, turn on Enable billing usage notification, enter the month’s usage that triggers it under When MyAccount monthly usage exceeds above the, choose SMS or Email, and click Save. The account tells you when the month’s usage, before it is invoiced, passes that amount.

To have the account top up instead of only telling you, see Set up AutoPay. To change the limit or turn the alert off, come back to the same page.
