Delete an endpoint

View as Markdown

Delete an endpoint once you are finished with it. Deleting removes the endpoint, its workers, and its address. You can delete an endpoint in any state. To stop paying for compute but keep the endpoint’s settings and address, stop the endpoint instead.

  • Permission to delete model endpoints in the project. A Member needs a policy that grants delete permission for the Inference service.
  • Waited for any VPC IP attach on the endpoint to finish. The delete is refused while an attach is in progress.

Deleting is permanent. On a committed plan the delete ends the endpoint at once, and the committed charge, already paid for the whole term, is not refunded.

  1. In Model Endpoints, find the endpoint. Under Actions, or in the Actions menu on its details page, select Delete.
  2. Tick “I understand and want to delete endpoint service <name>”.
  3. Select Delete.

TIR deletes the endpoint and emails you, with the project’s Owner and Admins in copy.

  • An attached VPC IP is detached from the endpoint.
  • The endpoint’s security-group rules and its alerts are removed.
  • Your Model Repository and its files stay as they are, even though Delete Service mentions deleting the objects within the model.
  • The endpoint’s name is free again, so a new endpoint can use it.

The endpoint is gone from the list. If the delete fails, the portal shows “Unable to delete inference” or the reason; see Troubleshooting Model Endpoints. To remove the model files as well, see Delete a repository.
