Create a repository

View as Markdown

Create a repository to hold the files of a model. TIR creates the bucket behind it and its access keys. The repository grows with its files as you add them.

  • A TIR project in Delhi or Chennai. A repository belongs to one project and one region, and the portal creates it in the region you are working in.
  • Permission to create model repositories in the project. A Member gets it through a policy that allows creating for the Inference service.
  1. In TIR, open your project. In the side menu, under Inference, select Model Repository, then select Create Repository. The Create Model Repository form opens.
  2. Check Repository Name. It starts with a suggestion, tir-model- followed by the date and time, and you can type your own. A name has up to 50 characters. It starts with a lowercase letter, ends with a letter or a number, and has only lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens. It must be new in the project and region. You set a repository’s name once, so choose one you want to keep.
  3. Choose a Model Type. Pick PyTorch for PyTorch models (.pth, .pt) and Hugging Face models, Triton for Triton Inference Server model repositories, and Custom for other formats. For a TensorFlow model, choose any type, because a repository takes any file.
  4. Choose a Storage Type. New EOS Bucket is the default. Keep it when you are starting fresh, because TIR then creates the bucket and its keys. To reuse a bucket you already have, or one that another account owns, see Use an existing or external bucket.
  5. Select Create.

If the create is refused, the form shows the reason. See Troubleshooting Model Repository.

The repository is ready at once. Next Steps shows how to upload files to it with the SDK, from a TIR notebook, or with a command-line tool. Close it, or select Go to File Browser, to return to the list, where the new repository is selected.

Bucket Name on the Overview tab is the bucket TIR created. TIR creates the repository in the region you are working in, Delhi or Chennai. There is no encryption choice when you create a repository.

Then upload model files or find the repository’s access keys and endpoint. For rates, see E2E’s pricing page.
