Activate Functions once for your account to start creating functions. Activation gives the account a dedicated outbound IP. From then on, the CPU monthly minimum applies each month.
Before you begin
Section titled “Before you begin”You need:
- A MyAccount account. Functions is available in Delhi.
- If your account is prepaid, a balance that covers the CPU monthly minimum. With less, MyAccount refuses with “Credit are not sufficient.”
Activate Functions
Section titled “Activate Functions”- In MyAccount, open Compute > Functions.
- Click Get Started, then Activate.
Activation ends on Create Function, with “FaaS plan activated successfully.”
What activation gives you
Section titled “What activation gives you”Activation gives the account a dedicated outbound IP. Every function you create calls out to external services through that one IP. MyAccount calls it a “Dedicated IP for whitelisting requirement”.
An external system can allow that one address in its firewall for all your functions. To find the address, select any function in the Functions list and open the Info tab below the list. The address is shown as Outbound IP, the same for every function.
What activation charges
Section titled “What activation charges”The CPU monthly minimum applies for each month in which Functions is active. It includes 4,50,000 GB-seconds of CPU usage. For the amount, see E2E’s pricing page. For how usage is counted, see Billing.
A prepaid account pays the minimum from its prepaid balance when it activates. Each activation charges it again, even in the same month. A postpaid account pays nothing at the moment it activates. The minimum comes on its monthly bill.
If you deactivate Functions later in the same month, the minimum stays on that month’s bill. It is not refunded. See Deactivate Functions for what deactivation removes.
What you have now
Section titled “What you have now”Functions is activated and you can create your first function. See Create a function. If activation is refused, see Troubleshooting Functions.
