Deactivate Functions

View as Markdown

Deactivate Functions when your account no longer needs it. Later months then carry no CPU monthly minimum, and the account’s outbound IP is released.

Delete every function. Deactivating works only when no functions remain. With functions still present, deactivating stops at “You cannot deactivate the FaaS plan while functions are active. Please delete all functions before proceeding with deactivation.” See Delete a function.

Deactivating releases the account’s outbound IP. If you activate again, you can get a different IP.

  1. In Compute > Functions, click Deactivate FaaS plan.
  2. In Confirm Deactivate Plan, click Deactivate.

You see “FaaS plan deactivated successfully.”

Later months carry no Functions charge. The CPU monthly minimum applies only for months in which Functions is active. The month in which you deactivate keeps its Functions charge. If you activated this month on a prepaid account, the minimum charged then from your prepaid balance is not refunded. See Billing.

To use Functions again, activate it again. For a prepaid account, each activation charges the minimum again from its prepaid balance, even in the same month.

A new activation reserves whichever outbound IP is free at that moment. Update any allow-list that holds the old address. See Activate Functions.

Functions is off for your account. To use Functions again, see Activate Functions.
