Deletes the database and starts tearing it down; status becomes Terminating. Its snapshot schedule is removed. Works in any state except while the database is already Terminating. Needs the Delete permission on DBaaS.

The database is already being deleted (“Database is already being deleted.”), or was created with deletion protection (“Deletion protection is enabled. Turn it off before deleting this database.”). A missing or invalid project ID also gives 400 with errors “Project ID is missing or invalid”.
