Takes a snapshot of the database’s disk and returns it as Creating at once. The database stays online while the snapshot is taken. Call List Database Snapshots until status is Completed or Failed. A snapshot not finished within about 10 minutes is marked Failed. When it completes, an email goes to the person who created the database. Works only while the database is Running. Needs the Create permission for DBaaS.

managed_db_id
required

name
required

Up to 63 characters: lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens, starting and ending with a letter or number. Not used by another snapshot in the project in this region, including other databases’ snapshots; a name taken by another database’s snapshot fails with 412.

string
<= 63 characters

Example

}

The name is missing, breaks the rule (“Name must contain only lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens, start and end with a letter or number, and be at most 63 characters.”) or is taken (“A snapshot with this name already exists.”). A missing or invalid project ID gives errors “Project ID is missing or invalid”.
