A saved image is a reusable template of a node’s root disk. Save a node once, and you can launch new nodes from it later, already set up the same way, without configuring each one again. You manage your saved images on the Saved Images page under Storage in MyAccount.
What you can do with saved images
Section titled “What you can do with saved images”- Save a node as an image: capture a node’s root disk as a reusable template.
- Create an image from a snapshot: turn a saved point-in-time snapshot into a reusable image.
- Import a custom image: bring an image you built on another cloud or your own servers onto E2E, through an Object Storage bucket.
- Export an image to Object Storage: keep a copy of an image as a file in your bucket, or move it to the other region.
- Move a saved image to another project: use an image in another project of the same account, without moving the node it was taken from.
- Rename or delete a saved image from its Actions menu on the Saved Images page, and tag it from the tag icon beside its name.
The steps for saving from a node or a snapshot live on the Node pages, where the image is created. You manage the images on the Saved Images page.
What you will see
Section titled “What you will see”The Saved Images page lists your images with their name, type (E2E Image or Custom Image), operating system, size, how many nodes and scale groups run from them, their creation date, and their state. When an image reads Ready (or Available), you can create a node or scale group from it, or export it.
Where to start with saved images
Section titled “Where to start with saved images”Get started with Saved Images walks you through saving a node and launching a copy of it. If something goes wrong, see Troubleshooting Saved Images and Troubleshooting image import and export.
