To launch nodes from a saved image in another project of the same account, move the image to that project. The image stays in the same region, and only its project changes.
The node the image was taken from stays where it is. To move a node together with its saved images, move the node instead; see Move a node to another project.
Before you begin
Section titled “Before you begin”- Check your role. The account owner, an Admin, or a Project Lead in the image’s project can move it, and Move To Another Project appears for them. See Choose a role for a user.
- Have a second project in the account to receive the image. See Create a project.
- Let the image finish creating or exporting, and check that it is not in Error.
- Remove any tags from the image. See Tag a resource.
- Check that no scale group uses the image. To remove a scale group, see Delete a scale group.
Move the image
Section titled “Move the image”-
In MyAccount, open Storage > Saved Images, then click Move To Another Project in the image’s Actions menu.
For an image that cannot move yet, MyAccount lists the three conditions instead: no tags, not in Error, and no scale group using it.
-
In Move Image to Another Project, use Select Project to pick the project that will hold the image. The image’s current project is listed but unavailable.
-
