Delete a private cluster once your work on it is finished. Its nodes go back to E2E, its billing stops, and the delete is permanent.
Before you begin
Section titled “Before you begin”- The Owner or Admin role on the project; only these roles can delete a cluster. See Nodes, projects, and access.
- Deleted every instance, model endpoint, training cluster, vector database, and Slurm cluster on the cluster, stopped ones included. To find them, check each project’s Deployed Services on Project Allocations.
Nodes still allocated to projects are released with the cluster, so you can leave them where they are.
Delete the cluster
Section titled “Delete the cluster”You pay for a committed cluster’s term upfront, so deleting the cluster before the term ends gives no refund for the time left. A Shared File System, Parallel File System, or dataset attached to a service on the cluster stays, and keeps its own billing, until you delete it where you manage it.
- In Manage Private Cluster, open the cluster’s Actions menu and select Delete Cluster.
- Tick “I understand and want to delete private cluster:
<name>.”, where<name>is the cluster’s name. On a committed cluster, the dialog also reminds you that the charges already deducted are not refunded. - Select Delete Cluster.
The cluster leaves the list. If a service is still on the cluster, TIR refuses the delete and names each one with its status; delete them and try again.
To build a different cluster, for example one with fewer nodes, see Create a private cluster. For help with a refused delete, see Troubleshooting TIR Private Cluster.
