Delete a security group

Delete a security group you have finished with. Deleting removes it for good, and the resources that still had it attached stop following its rules.

Before you begin

You need a role with Delete permission on security groups. Open the group’s Associated Services tab to see which resources have it. To keep each of them reachable, attach another group to each one first and detach this one.

Delete the group

1. In TIR, open your project. In the side menu, under PLATFORM SERVICES, select Networking, then Security Groups.
2. In the group’s row, open the Actions menu and select Delete.
3. In Delete Security Group, tick “I understand and want to delete security group” with the name shown.
4. Select Delete Security Group.
