Edit a security group

Change a security group’s name or description. Its rules stay as they are.

Before you begin

You need a role with Update permission on security groups. You can edit the Security Group Name and the Description of any group except the default group, Default-SSH-Security-Group.

Edit the group

1. In TIR, open your project. In the side menu, under PLATFORM SERVICES, select Networking, then Security Groups.
2. In the group’s row, open the Actions menu and select Edit Security Group.
3. Change Security Group Name or Description. A name has 1 to 255 characters: letters, digits, hyphens, and underscores. It must differ from the names of the other groups in the project and region. A description holds up to 500 characters.
4. Select Save Changes.

The Overview tab shows the new name and description.
