A reserved IP is an address kept for you until you delete it, so a resource can keep the same address through stops, starts, and replacements. Reserve one of two kinds:
- A public reserved IP is a static internet address. Point DNS at it, give clients one address that stays the same, and move it to a new resource when you replace the old one.
- A VPC IP is a private address from a VPC in your E2E MyAccount project. Attached to a TIR instance or inference service, it lets that resource talk to your MyAccount VPC over a private address.
Two related screens sit beside it under Networking: Security Groups decide which traffic your resources accept and send, and VPC gives your VMs a private network of their own.
Where to find it
Section titled “Where to find it”In TIR, open your project. In the side menu, under PLATFORM SERVICES, select Networking. Reserve IP opens, with Security Groups and VPC below it.
What you can do
Section titled “What you can do”- Reserve an IP: a public address with Reserve New IP, or a private one from a MyAccount VPC with Reserve from VPC.
- Attach a reserved IP to an instance, a VM, a Slurm cluster, a Kubernetes cluster, or an inference service.
- Detach a reserved IP to move it to another resource.
- Transfer a reserved IP, a public one, to another project.
- Delete a reserved IP you are done with.
Reserved IPs compares the two kinds and explains their states, and Reserved IP billing explains what is charged.
Where to start
Section titled “Where to start”In Get started with Reserve IP, you reserve a public IP and attach it to an instance. The Reserve IP FAQ has short answers, and Troubleshooting Reserve IP explains each message.
