Reserve a public IP with Reserve New IP, or a private IP from a VPC with Reserve from VPC. Either one stays yours until you delete it, and you can attach it to a resource now or later.
Before you begin
Section titled “Before you begin”You need a TIR project in Delhi or Chennai and a role with Create permission on reserved IPs. A reserved public IP is charged monthly until you delete it, so a prepaid account needs enough credit to cover the charge; see Reserved IP billing.
For a VPC IP, you also need a VPC in your E2E MyAccount project, in the same region as your TIR project; see Create a VPC. The VPC must be Active and use a range that E2E assigned rather than a custom range. You also need MyAccount VPC permission to choose a VPC. In TIR, a VPC IP is free. See Reserved IPs for how the two types differ.
Reserve a public IP
Section titled “Reserve a public IP”- In TIR, open your project. In the side menu, under PLATFORM SERVICES, select Networking, then Reserve IP.
- Select Reserve New IP. The Reserve IP dialog shows how many IP addresses your account can reserve in the region.
- Read the note about the monthly fee and tick the box.
- Select Proceed.
The new IP is listed in Manage Reserved IP as a Public IP, Available to attach.
If you have reached your limit
Section titled “If you have reached your limit”Once your account holds its limit, Reserve New IP lets you ask for more instead: type how many reserved IPs you want, a whole number from 1 to 10, and select Request. This sends a request to E2E support, who review it and get in touch. Your limit goes up only when E2E raises it.
Reserve an IP from a VPC
Section titled “Reserve an IP from a VPC”- In TIR, open your project. In the side menu, under PLATFORM SERVICES, select Networking, then Reserve IP.
- Select Reserve from VPC. The region is already set to the one you are in.
- In My Account Project, choose the project that holds the VPC.
- In VPC, choose the VPC. Wait for a VPC that is Creating to finish before you choose it.
- Select Proceed.
The IP is listed in Manage Reserved IP as a Private IP from the VPC, Available to attach.
Reserving takes two addresses from the VPC: the IP shown in IP, and the Egress IP next to it.
What to do next
Section titled “What to do next”Attach the IP to a resource to use it. For help with any message, see Troubleshooting Reserve IP.
