Transfer a reserved IP

Move a reserved public IP from one project to another project of the same account.

Before you begin

You need the Owner or Admin role to transfer a reserved IP. The IP must be Available, so if it is Attached, detach it from every resource first.

You can transfer to any other project in the same account except an AI Labs or private workspace project. Only a public IP can be transferred. To use a VPC IP (Type Private) in another project, delete it and reserve a new one there.

Transfer the IP

1. In TIR, open your project. In the side menu, under PLATFORM SERVICES, select Networking, then Reserve IP.
2. In the row of the IP, open the Action menu and select Transfer IP.
3. In Transfer Reserve IP, open Select Project and choose the target project. The list holds every other project of your account.
4. Select Transfer IP.

The IP leaves this project’s list and appears in the target project’s list, where you can attach it. If the transfer is refused, see Troubleshooting Reserve IP.
