Rename a firewall

View as Markdown

Give a firewall a new name in MyAccount, for example to match a naming scheme for your projects. The name is what Manage Firewall lists and what Search finds.

  • The firewall is unlocked, and Running or Powered off. See Lock a firewall.
  • Your role in the project can update firewalls.
  • The new name has up to 50 characters, of letters, digits, underscores, and hyphens.
  1. In MyAccount, under Network, click Firewall.
  2. On Manage Firewall, click the firewall. Its Firewall Detail tab opens below the list.
  3. Click the pencil beside Firewall Name.
  4. Type the new name.
  5. Click the tick.

Firewall renamed successfully confirms it, and Firewall Name on Manage Firewall shows the new name.

Search on Manage Firewall now finds the firewall by its new name. The pencil is hidden while the firewall is locked or Creating; see An item in the Actions menu is greyed out.
